Our 3D Laser Scanning services allow you to reverse engineer parts of all shapes, sizes, and applications! One of our Metrologists, Kamil, recently scanned this Volvo VN Series truck at our lab... well, *outside* our lab! Thanks to the markerless scanning capability and flexible measurement range of the TrackScan system from SCANTECH (HANGZHOU) CO., LTD., we can provide highly accurate measurements almost anywhere.

When we think of precision, we oftentimes conjure up images of small, intricate mechanisms like a fine automatic watch. However, our team at Made to Measure knows that tight tolerances and precise engineering come in all shapes and sizes! Our large-scale gantry CMM uses a Renishaw REVO probe head specifically for exceptionally-large parts with extremely precise machining--like this massive sun gear made for wind turbine gearbox! These huge planetary gearboxes rely on watch-like precision, but on a scale that's hard to comprehend without seeing it in person.

Our team had the privilege of documenting a true piece of #MotoGP history - the legendary 1997 Honda RS250R NX5 - with the TrackScan #3dlaserscanning system from SCANTECH (HANGZHOU) CO., LTD. TrackScan Sharp scanners allow for markerless 3D measurement from nearly 20 feet away without compromising accuracy. The range offered by the TrackScan Sharp offers a massive volumetric measuring envelope of over 527 sq. ft. - a 200% increase over the previous model. This increased capacity allows for large-scale, high-accuracy measurements without the painstaking process of adding reference targets. The Honda RS250R was an ultra-lightweight, race-only motorcycle that was purpose-built for the 250cc Class built by the Honda Racing Corporation (HRC). In 1993, HRC released the latest generation of the RS250R - the NX5. The first full redesign in six years, the NX5 generation saw a number of significant changes to its drivetrain and frame. By 1997, the NX5 was dominating the 250cc MotoGP class as a result of its incremental evolution. That year, the RS250R NX5 won 12 of 15 races and took Max Biaggi his fourth consecutive 250cc World Championship title; eight of the top ten racers rode the RS250R NX5 in 1997. Both the TrackScan Sharp and RS250R NX5 are proof that it takes relentless innovation to achieve true greatness.
